Who should attend the course?

The Advanced Lean Coach Programme is designed for senior manufacturing managers, Continuous Improvement (CI) leaders, and Lean professionals who aim to deepen their expertise and lead strategic change.

Ideal candidates have a solid foundation in Lean principles, typically holding Lean Competency System (LCS) Level 1c certification or equivalent experience and having worked in a Lean-focused role for approximately three years.

The programme aligns with the LCS framework, an internationally recognised standard developed by Cardiff University, ensuring participants gain industry-relevant and academically grounded competencies.

How is the course structured?

  • The programme is aligned with the Lean Competency System (LCS) created by Cardiff University’s Lean Enterprise Research Centre.  The LCS is the leading, academically recognised Lean qualification worldwide.

  • The programme is underpinned by an initial four day training course, including a manufacturing case study site visit, to deepen understanding of advanced Lean tools, principles and techniques.

  • The second stage of the training puts knowledge into practice, including a ‘real time’ project in the workplace to demonstrate the application of learning in a practical context.

  • Learning can then be applied to the redesign of manufacturing business processes, work streams and end-to-end organisational change to deliver performance improvements and achieve significant return on investment.

  • This is an accredited course, with the content structured to follow the Lean Competency System (LCS) Level 2a requirements.
